An important step you’ll take when buying your first home, is choosing the right lender for your mortgage. It may be that you are moving to a different, city, town, or even a completely new state. It’s common for purchasers to call their national bank and ask for a pre-approval letter without ever meeting the local banker that is familiar with the area. This is understandable considering many purchasers would like to use the same bank they use for personal banking, and it just makes sense to have all their accounts with one entity.
However, I would suggest you get a local lender who is familiar with the area of purchase and get to know the local loan officer who can discuss
